A new episode of the EE Podcast is available for your listening pleasure!
In episode 72, we catch up with the infamous Leslie Doherty, better known as @mrsflinger, to learn about improving the user experience in ExpressionEngine.
Episode #72
For Framing Logic, Leslie first fills us in on what she's been up to since moving on from EllisLab, including her return to freelancing and some really interesting front-end development projects. We then learn about “framing logic,” which is really just how Leslie refers to her user experience process when working in ExpressionEngine.
She discusses the importance of knowing and understanding the content and the client, so that the EE control panel provides the best experience for the client … even if that means it might be less desirable from the developer's perspective. She also explains her process of customizing the control panel, including choosing between channel and categories, deciding on custom fields and add-ons that help.
P.S. Much of what Leslie shared echoes the user experience portion of my recent Engine Summit presentation. Check out Designer-Friendly EE after you've listened to episode 72, if you'd like to see additional ideas for making your control panel better for your clients.
Stay Tuned!
