15 Minutes

I was always suspect of this pop culture nugget:

In the future everyone will be famous for fifteen minutes.

Andy Warhol, American artist

I mean, seriously, everyone?

Well, perhaps he was right — at least in some regard — because I'm a "Designer in the Spotlight".

Yeah, I'm totally famous now.

This is totally true. Look @ Warhol’s time/environment and then look at Facebook, MySpace, Flickr, and every other form of social media.

Almost anyone can be “famous.” I think the term is relative to context and that the quote itself echoes a huge statement about our culture and society, even.

Totally stumbled onto your blog finally, and felt like getting a bit deep/artsy for a second. Nice blog, btw!

@DJ - Thanks, Dave :)

@Andy - Wow, deep and artsy. Color me impressed ;)

Seriously though, agree completely about the concept of fame and even celebrity in our society.

Rather ridiculous across all facets of culture, including the web design/development world (far too many folks who think of themselves as "rock stars").

Anyways, thanks for checking out my blog. Thrilled you like it!

Congrats!  Looks like I’m not the only one to stumble across your blog today.  You need to drop by the east coast again so I can geek out on CSS and web standards.  Everyone here gives me dirty looks when I bring them up!

@Allen - Wow! So psyched to hear from you. But dumbfounded how you came across my blog … do tell!

I will be back East some time. Not sure when, but work will eventually call me back for some lame-ass meeting.

I will definitely let you know when I’m around. Would love to catch up again and get all geeky with CSS and standards.

And if you are ever in the American Southwest, you know who to call.

Hope you are well and really thrilled to hear from you! :)

Yeah, that would be me: .

A Blog Not Limited is my personal blog where I pontificate about web design, web standards, semantics and whatever else strikes my fancy. Head on over to Emily Lewis Design if you'd like to see my work or, even better, hire me.
